The Role

As the Executive Director you will closely support the General Counsel in ensuring the legal function delivers legal, contractual and reputational risk management and mitigation, adding strategic and economic value and control of legal spend.  You will be responsible for the work of the Legal Department including management of the team and project management of corporate level strategic initiatives.

You will also advise and support the business, proactively providing contractual legal advice and support to the relevant sales, procurement and technology teams. You will participate in legal projects and support the business and technology development efforts of the company.  This role provides autonomy offering a high level of responsibility as the leading support to the General Counsel.   

As the Executive Director Legal, you will:

  • Assist with the leadership of the legal team, managing and developing its’ team members
  • Assist with the management of legal department’s workflow and its’ respective budget
  • Advise and support the business, proactively providing contractual legal advice and support to the relevant sales, procurement and technology teams
  • Support on contractual management, review terms and conditions, negotiate agreements and advise on risk profiles
  • Participate in legal projects and support the business and technology development efforts of the company. 

To bring your dream to life, you’ll need:

  • Circa 7 - 12 years' PQE, having qualified in a Common Law jurisdiction, dealing with complex commercial, M&A, Private Equity and technology related contracts.
  • Experience of working for a leading multinational law firm is a requirement for this position with potentially some experience of working in house in recent years.
  • Previous leadership experience of managing, motivating and developing other legal team members
  • The ability to manage work flow and legal budget, the ability to delegate, initiative and strong decision-making skills
  • Strong communication skills as you will enjoy building relationships with multi-national teams, and you have a genuine interest in sharing skills and experience with legal and non-legal business colleagues.
  • The desire to thrive in a fast-paced start-up like in-house environment and have a keen fascination with technology and cyber-security products and services.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual (Arabic/English), but this is not an essential requirement for this position
